The latest is that RHofV will premiere in March, 2012 on Slice. The current rumour is that Christina Aisenstat, Jody Claman, Reiko Mackenzie, Ronnie Negus & Mary Zilba will be on the show. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I couldn’t believe the last paragraph…”Vancouver is part of the Pacific Rim and has a large non-Caucasian population. Apparently when our opinion makers in the local media think about the wealthy and privileged movers and shakers of Vancouver, no non-Caucasian women come to mind.”
I cannot help myself but disagree with the “LOCAL MEDIA” or shall I say an extremely small % of local media. Apparently, they really don’t know the asians in town.

Have you checked out the conference yet? Such interesting content! I hope that Fortune magazine will put the videos from the conference on their fabulous site. (I often visit Fortune for inspiration.) The sessions are pretty tight on time, so it doesn’t seem that online questions will be asked. But it’s worth asking them. There are also other opportunities to meet people online via the conference main page.

Here is the question I would like to ask during the Sheryl Sandberg session, if I could have the chance:

Ms. Sandberg has said that she is grateful for people who encouraged her and helped her develop in her career. She has also suggested that questions women ask at meetings about finding mentors are “girl questions”. Yet many talented women in the workforce DO lack senior sponsorship and opportunities to get ahead, and function in old boy’s networks, even though they speak up, lean in, sit at the table, maintain balance at home and appreciate their jobs pre-pregnancy. You put yourself forward and out there but, unlike Ms. Sandberg’s experience, more senior management are too busy looking after their own self interests and office politics to do more than say what a great job you are doing. What do you do? Change jobs? In small cities, like we have here in Canada, good jobs are in short supply.

I really appreciate the efforts of Fortune magazine staff to share the women in leadership ideas of people like Ms. Sandberg. Even if my question isn’t asked, I would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you!”.

Hi, Ben, So wonderful to hear from you and to hear your perspective. All the more so because you are an employee at McDonalds. I was really disappointed with this sandwich as it did look so promising. I usually order a chicken product and I do love mushrooms. I will, as you suggested, try the sandwich again. I guess I should really try it again at that location. I’m not sure when I’ll get back there, but when I do and when I have a chance to try it I’ll put a note on the page so you can get an update. It’s strange, because this is a stylish and seemingly well run McDonalds. There was a long line-up when I was there so I had an opportunity to case out the place

I stumbled onto this page after searching for information/customer reviews of the new “Supreme Chicken” sandwiches. I am currently an employee at McDonalds, and I was appalled at the quality of the product that you received. The Swiss mushroom melt, if made correctly, should have a hefty 6 oz serving of sautéed mushrooms, two pieces of swiss cheese placed on top of the chicken to provide a moisture barrier from the lettuce, mushrooms, and sauce also, the leaf lettuce should cover the entire piece of chicken. This particular sandwich was clearly made in haste, by someone who did not know how to make it, or just did not care about producing a quality product. I would suggest the you try this sandwich again, check the quality, and if it is not right, return it, and demand (nicely) that they make it to McDonalds quality standards.

I am very picky about food quality, and taste, and in my opinion, these sandwiches are one of the best things McDonalds is currently offering. Anyway, I hope my inside look was helpful.

I have never heard such a lot of nonsense in my life. Sure am glad that I’m a homely, over-50 with four university degrees!
