It happens quite often. I see information about an event after it happens. So I’m relaunching Connect BC. You’re invited to join this Facebook group page focussed on deepening connections within our communities here in British Columbia.
Does an evening of mixing and mingling with moms, small business entrepreneurs and social media enthusiasts sound like a fun prospect. On Jun 17th, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM, VancouverMom.ca will be hosting the 6th Annual Vancouver Mom Top 30 celebration at Nicole Bridger’s flagship store in Gastown.
When I was growing up my mother used to say that “if you can’t afford to travel well, don’t go.” All things considered – and bearing this saying in mind – I’d prefer to stay grounded for now.

Maybe not.
It wouldn’t phase me if someone called me a “helicopter parent” or gave me a frosty stare; however, said person should expect to be ignored.
You’re going to see this Baby Spam post shared if you subscribe to pages that touch on topics such as parenting. The thing is most of us won’t receive this type of letter. BIL is an unconference that takes place yearly and is open to everyone to attend as participants and speakers. If you like TED Talks, TEDX or, one of my personal favourites, PechaKucha, BIL is an event that will pique your interest.
It started early on and it’s been pretty consistent – and often feels like it’s been relentless – every since. All those nattering comments about helicopter parents, pressure today, over achieving parents etc. that we hear about, in the news and in our personal conversations, can go straight to the rubbish bin. Because it’s not me tightening the screws.
